Socialize vs Eventbrite

An Eventbrite alternative for recurring community events

Eventbrite is made for selling tickets to an event. Socialize is made for a community that meets again and again: members with profiles and connections, events that fill reliably and partner venues, on Socialize itself or on a platform of your own.

Two ways to launch

Run your community events on Socialize itself, or put the same platform under your own brand.

What you’re comparingEventbriteSocialize
What it isA self-service ticketing platform: create an event, sell or give away tickets, and reach people on Eventbrite’s marketplace.A community and events platform for regular, in-person events, set up with you and run by you or with our help.
PaymentsOnline checkout for paid tickets. Publishing is free; fees apply to paid tickets and are paid by attendees by default.Event prices are shown in the app and paid at the venue: no online checkout, and no commission.
Between eventsEach event stands on its own: people buy tickets and can follow an organiser.Members keep a profile, connect with people they’ve met, chat with each event’s group and are shown events that match their interests.
AttendanceWaitlists, and ticket scanning at the door with the organiser app.Seat limits, minimum numbers, waitlists that fill automatically, cancellation windows, QR or PIN check-in and a reliability record for every member.
Your brandAn organiser profile on Eventbrite, and checkout embedded on your own website; attendees reach their tickets on Eventbrite’s website or app.On Socialize, the Socialize brand. With a platform of your own: your name, logo, colours and domain.
Finding new peopleIts core: events reach people browsing Eventbrite’s marketplace, with paid ads on top.Members discover events inside the app by interest, city and map. Event pages are for members, so they don’t appear in search engines.
VenuesTools for music venues, such as reserved seating.A dashboard for every partner venue: its own events, sign-ups, check-in at the door and a member deal shown as a member price.

Eventbrite’s side of this page is based on Eventbrite’s own website and help centre, checked on 5 October 2026. Plans, fees and features change, so check eventbrite.com for the current details. Eventbrite is a trademark of its owner; Socialize is not affiliated with or endorsed by Eventbrite.

Why operators choose Socialize

What changes with Socialize

  • Members who come back

People join your community once, not one event at a time: their profile, interests and connections bring them the next event that suits them.

  • A community, not an audience

A group chat for every event, connections between people who met there, hosts from your own community and votes on what to run next.

  • Nights that fill reliably

Minimum numbers, automatic waitlists and cancellation windows keep events full; under-booked events cancel themselves in time, and every member builds a reliability record.

FAQ

Questions about Eventbrite and Socialize

Can we use Eventbrite and Socialize together?

Yes. Eventbrite can keep handling tickets for one-off or large events, while Socialize becomes the home of your community and its regular events.

Can members pay for events online in Socialize?

Not today. Event prices are shown in the app and paid at the venue, and the check-in screen shows what to charge. Paid memberships with Stripe billing are built and can be switched on for a platform of your own.

Who runs the events on Socialize?

Your team, your partner venues and hosts from your community. Each venue manages its events from its own dashboard, and members can organise free community events themselves.
